Well my good friends that own the local sawmill just bought a new Cleerman 48" circle mill.

Had to get the old out first. Talk about a big freakin job for two guys. We lucked out and had another buddy help the last few days though.

Here's where we're at now.

The husk frame (saw carriage) is coming out too, as is the cab. We're reusing the cab, just all new electronics. All touchscreen.

Here's Mitch cuttin under the husk frame. Not much room in the trench.

We still have to level the beams the rails set on, install new legs on em, install the new rails, level and align the new rails, install and wire/plumb the new carriage, remove the old husk frame, install the new husk, install all the electronics/touch panels.... Well, we got a ways to go. Lol.

I'll try to keep some pics coming, but I probably won't be around for a month or so. :/

Not sure that was a gift, looks like it was BURIED treasure:msp_rolleyes:

Shea

Never look a gift horse in the mouth. He said all it needs is a coil. I'll get to it one of these years.

nice pic's. Looks like some heavy metel for a couple of guys.

The loader made light work of the I beams. I don't know what it will pick up, but I've yet to see him overload it. We unloaded the new carriage from the lowboy with it. The new carriage weighs 11,000lbs. :dizzy:

what was wrong with the old one ? why have to ditch all the rails ?

It's just wore slap out. The carriage rails are knife edged from wear. The whole thing rattles and beats around as it heads down the track. It was built in 1990.

Head saw & top saw ??
All this run on 440 3 phase?

58" inserted tooth would use some hp.

What an operation !!:dizzy:

I'm not real hip on "sawmill terminology" but I think they call the large saw( it was already off for the pics I took) the head saw. And the top saw is obviously the top.

And it might be a 150hp motor. I'll look on Wednesday. They said the motor weighed 1200lbs. All 480V three phase.
