I have recently purchased a new Efco 165. I was skeptical at 1st but due to the lack of the big 2 Dealer support here locally and the 2 yrs commercial warranty I decided to try out the efco.Upon opening the the box I was immediately impressed with the tool kit.The kit contained a cylinder stop,File,File handle,Multi Tool and a Funnel. The manual was fairly informative.
I assembled the bar and chain noticing the saw appeared to be well built.I added the fuel and bar oil.The Saw started upon the 2nd pull which was very surprising.
The 165 has very good low end torque The high end seems a little lacking but I'm sure after it gets broken in this will improve. The 165 with its primer bulb will start cold with 2 pulls and I have yet to have to choke it.I have been running the 165 for about a week now. Although I have Always been a Stihl fan at this point Im fairly certain the efco will be a Asset to my business. In my humble opinion the efco gets 2 thumbs up so far.Time will tell as it always does with a new addition.

Let us know how you like it in a month and in a year. I like the Effys but never bought one. I have several Olys and a John Deere CS81 thats new in the box.

My neighbor has the John Deere CS62 that I suggested he buy and he loves it and has cut quite a bit with it. My other neighbor bought her husband the CS56 for her husband for Christmas. They both got them from E-bay and got some great deals on em. Her Husband had cut alot of wood with a Wildthing and he thought he was in the big time that 56, until he ran my 7900. She said he was more excited on Christmas Morning than her kids.

I have 2 John Deere saws (Efco's in green rather then red) the 62 and the 40, they are both awesome saws even before you consider the prices they carry.
The high end torque does pick up on break in, or at least with the 62. I wouldn't hesitate to acquire another Efco saw in the future.

Well Considering this saw now has God only knows how many hrs on it and the only parts that have been changed to date are the sparkplug.. bars..and chains... I'd say this saw is amazing!
