after my recent success of rebuilding a danarm 55 , I thought I would tackle this as my next millennium project as I don't think they will be many left here in the u.k? I believe it to be a genuine 7-10 not sure of the month or year it was built? I did look on the acres site and it claims they were only made for one year or so? is that correct? and I would be really happy if an expert could tell me its exact date of manufacture by its tag? this is a millennium project which means it may take up to two years to complete, as I would imagine parts may need to be purchased from across the pond etc. i do like to take my time to get enjoyment out of tinkering with them etc. don't like pressure/rush jobs, with specific time scales, as it takes away all of the fun/enjoyment, which is what a hobby is supposed to be all about ;o) CD

Not sure I’d trust acres on that one.
It’s a bit too common a saw around my area to have only been around for a year.
I have three and didn’t pay much for any of them.

It is a very good model and worth fixing if it doesn’t need too much.

I got this one given off a local dealer that goes around auction sales, he gave me this out of his junk pile a couple of years ago, as it is locked up, I think its locked with sitting but I will be tearing it down anyway to inspect for oxidisation in the crank case. its been languishing under the bench waiting for a day someone would lovingly get her back up and running ;o) CD

Acres says production from '70-'71, but I have them in this brochure from '74...

That and the different labels and all the different serial # prefixes points to a much longer production run...
I'm sure one of the McCulloch guy's here would know.
