Will it fit? yes, but you don't want to use aftermarket decompression valves as it will fail. Buy OEM! or just plug it.

I’m going to install decompression valves in my older saws like my 2100/2101/298/285’s. Even my sons jred 910e is hard to pull. I’m older.

Here's my general rule.

If the deco valve is connected to the combustion chamber via a small hole in the side, I'll risk a cheap one.

However, if the valve is at the top of the cylinder and the hole is large enough for the valve head to fall through, I go genuine.

I drill a small hole first, then the 10mm-1 tap drill hole. I leave part of the smaller hole to stop the broken decomp valve from getting into the chamber.

I have older suzuki decomp valves that are flush with the chamber. I trust there quality. For my dirtbikes.

I found the stock 572XP decomp valve to be surprising.

I had one of those farmertec decomps. It would pop out every time I pulled the rope. After 4 or 5 starts, it popped out for good.

#1: Farmertec decomp valves will loose the plastic cap and fall into the cylinders on top mount saws.

Bad business!

#2: Two huge holes will bleed off a large amount of compression making actual starting difficult at best.

I put a plug in everything from 372 down unless requested by the new owner to be on the safe side.
