To the OP. Your mix should be set based upon condition of your saw, and carb tuned based upon that specific mix. If you change the mix ratio , carb should be retuned as well. Not sure about 80 or 100/1 since I always stay in between 50 and 32/1.

It may be a good idea to print labels with " how to start" instructions, and few "don't " do things,.. As " don't mix my gas with 10w30 motor oil", " don't touch the carb unless you know what you are doing"...I think I may do it, and stick it on every saw that I sell or repair.

Just wander how did you clean it? Those few spots of red rust sure look like something fresh, but that oxidation on the piston look old. It takes a while for aluminum to get oxidized like that. I'd say that thing was sitting quite a bit and didn't run for long after that.

You can not remove the choke from the filter, but you can upgrade to ms260 filter by swapping the filter, af cover, and tank vent.
