Got news for you my man: In a comparable size saw made by Husky or Stihl, that there "Homeboy" will out work and out last any of them. For build quality, I'll place my C-5 up against any Stihl, any day.

It's a moot point now. The crankshaft on the C-52 is slightly thinner than that of the C-5 and C-51. Not interchangeable.

Well, the C-51 and C-52 aren't currently running, but they will be. Once I get 'em going, then I want to restore an XL-12.

I've owned and used Stihl, Husqvarna, Poulan, and Homelite and in my opinion, the older Homelites are the best saws made. Just got through re-building a C-5 and prefer it to any other saw. Currently working on a C-51 and C-52. Hopefully will get an XL-12 in the future.

This may be the acme of stupid questions, but I don't suppose there is anyone connected to the forum here who sells restoration items such as decals or OEM paint colours. I'd like to restore my Homelite "C" series saws. Thanks

I took this saw completely apart, never have done anything like that before. Replaced the rings, then put it back together. Replaced the spark plug wire into the coil and replaced the plug cap. Took the carb off, cleaned it, then re-installed. Re-gaped the points and plug. Replaced the fuel...

Well, in the Homelite specifications, it also states "52C" or "52L". What does that mean?
