    New 046 cylinder ?

I picked up a 046 that needs a piston and probably cylinder. I only have $60 into the saw, so spending a little cash to get a piston and cylinder kit is what I want. The saw will get a dual port muffler but the rest will be stock. Is the 54mm Big Bore kit, better than the standard kit if I...

046 compared to 044 crank case

Thanks for the info, exactly what I needed to know. Can anybody verify this stihl part number 1128-021-0761 could be a 460 or 044/440 case part number.

046 compared to 044 crank case

I need a clutch side case half for a 046, will a 044 case work? The item I am looking at says 044/064 case but I dont see how they can be the same. The stihl part number that I could make out is 1128-021-0761 which is the flywheel side but it comes with both halves.

    Trade 260pro for 046?

My buddy has a well used 046 that wants to trade me for my brand new stock 260pro. I already have a ported 260 that I use instead of the stock 260 and a 361. The 046 seems to run good but is this a good deal? My 260...

    new saw on the horizon

I run a ported 260 and a 361, use the 260 as the go to saw on almost everything. I like the 361 but its to close in size to the 260. I would rather have a 440/441 which gives you a 50cc and 70cc saw. I have run both the 440 and 460 and like the power to weight ratio of the 440. Plus...

    Pulling logs/concrete uphill

Not sure if this will help, but I used a scrap car hood to move huge boulders from a creek bed up a hill to the house. The hood slides over rough terrain very well and can be pulled with an ATV/winch. Basically use the hood as a sled!

which bar lengths for stihl 362?

I have the 361 that I use for firewood, that replaced my old 029. If you buy new from the dealer get the 24" with extra skip chain. It is cheaper to have the dealer upgrade to 24" bar and chain combo, mine was a free upgrade because I bought some other stuff. I purchased a 20" and 2 chains...

How long does it take to sand those plastic covers?

I wet sanded to 1200 grit, but could not get rid of all the black marks. I was worried about sanding threw the plastic trying to remove a few black spots. I then de-greased and shot it with krylon clear. I will post pics soon.
