The 661r spikes fit my 441, pretty sure they’d fit the 461. They’re skelotonized and pretty slick looking. If anyone wants me to check them on a 461 for sure let me know

Unless you can get it almost parallel with the grain you should take it perpendicular to the grain, anywhere in between gets tedious

No way to know for sure, but I always go big or go home. I'd mill it as wide as you can but you run the risk of the middle pieces having bark inclusion and splitting. If you mill narrower pieces you'll get more slabs and not risk as much splitting

I'm sure this is a dumb question but why no dual muff port? How has the muffler been modded to handle the porting exhaust?

This is a common problem with the 394 based on the number of discussions that are found here on AS. Search 394 hot start and start reading. Good luck

I use mine for occasional milling. I have the HO oiler on mine and use an aux oiler drip. It works fine, but if you already have a saw with time on it I would put that through the abuse before buying a new 661.
