    Hackberry Stump removal

    From start to end using my 066 and a Stumpeater type grinder that attaches to a tractor. The stump was sitting on a bed of rocks. Its was lots of work but worth the effort.

    You are right I won't booo you. You are right. Hackberry trees literally out grow there own ability to stand. They are some of the first to go during and ice storm or a windstorm.

    Bar change Judge, I changed bars on the 066 from a 32" to a 25" after I cut the stump off at ground level ... the 25" is what's in the pictures...

    the trunk and wood Sweet gum doesn't produced the heat that oak and hickory does so cutting it up for firewood was ruled out. I do use wood heat but try to stick to those two and cut it early enough so that it will be dried good. I plan to have the trunks milled ... Sweet gum makes good...

    cool peice of wood

    another cool piece of wood I cut this out of a pine about ten years ago and had it carved in to a rattler. It makes a full circle as you can see and measures approx 43'' from nose to button and 9'' around....
