    Sick elm trees?

sorry to say it but they're goners, I've lost a dozen or so nice elms over the past few years, they are dying like crazy! let em dry standing up, the firewood will be dry n ready to burn when you bring em down

Ive been spoiled warning skid steer content.

I ruined myself too, I had a skidsteer before I ever started burning, now I don't know what I'd ever do without it!

Central Boiler users ever seen one of these??

Blazin, did you try the blower kit or the chimney restrictor? either way, obviously must not have like it too much, tell us about it

Central Boiler users ever seen one of these??

I have a 5036 also, mine doesn't have one now, but this looks like an add-on part. The parts catalog says it is for use with the CL 4030, 5036, and 6048 models. Just wondering if it would slow the burn rate in my 5036 enough to make it more efficient, or it's really not necessary? Not...

Central Boiler users ever seen one of these??

Central Boiler users ever seen one of these??

Just saw this on eBay for 30 some bucks, they call it a "Chimney Tee Restrictor Kit, Lowers burn rate for Classic Models" Looks like its supposed to be installed in the chimney tee right out of the back of the firebox, I guess it makes sense in theory, just wondering if anybody's ever tried...

    New skidsteer log splitter!

nope, don't have to lean over to see the logs at all, can see the log comfortably sitting in the operator seat. i think it would work with a 4-way wedge on it, but i haven't got around to that yet. it seems to have plenty of power, even stringy elm doesn't slow it down, i think it has a...

    New skidsteer log splitter!

kipper, the cylinder mount on the beam and on the push plate is 1" thick plate. the cylinder is a 5", with a 24" stroke, the 5" might have been a bit of overkill as I think a 4" would have worked, but i haven't seen anything stop it or bog it down yet. I don't really know how much it...

    New skidsteer log splitter!

kipper, i can't really say what the hardest part was, i had been thinking about the design for a couple years. it was all really in my head, just had to make sure to get measurements right to keep everything in sync. the old adage is right, "measure twice, cut once"

    New skidsteer log splitter!

luckydad, that's a DAKA add-on style wood burner. it's served me well for several years, but just last year i put in a trane water to air heat exchanger that was getting scrapped out of an old industrial building. i have the Central Boiler outside so i just plumbed a different loop off of...

    New skidsteer log splitter!

I finished this thing in February ’12, and have been loving it ever since, just now getting around to putting up some pictures here for everybody to enjoy. I had to load all my logs, big and small, onto my old splitter, and that was sure getting old. I have a skisdsteer that I just use for...

    Trailer Axle placement

good point on calculating the actual weight when you figure the 60%, i guess i didn't spell that out that well

    Trailer Axle placement

I used to build car hauler and utility type trailers, the general rule of thumb was to place the center of the axles so there was 60% of the trailer forward and 40" of the trailer rearward of the axle center. In your case on a tandem axle, the center of the axles should be somewheres near the...

check out ebay, that's where I got mine, on my 3rd year with it now and I'm really happy with it. was cheaper than dealer price, and got it shipped to me in about 2-3 days
