What is your favorite chainsaw of all time?

Stihl MS261 C-M, runs very well, powerful, yet light and handles good.

So what do you guys think about your first autotune or mtronic saw after you have ran regular carbs for years??

Prefer M-Tronic saws, they run great and seem to give less problems. I have a 261 C-M and have used a few other C-M's.

    New 40cc saw guidance

My advice on a 40cc saw is to skip it and go with a Stihl 261 with a 16" bar, it's light and powerful. I had a 241 cm and sold it, when this old man needs a light rear handle saw, I reach for my 261 cm with a 16" bar.

    I got a 16'' bar for my MS 261 C-M

Have a 16" bar on my 261 cm, it works very well as a farm saw.

    Stihl 2-cycle mix question.

I would hate to be the one renting chainsaws out to weekend warriors. If you send pre-mix with them, some are still likely to use their mix and keep yours.

BREAKING NEWS! STIHL MS 170 & 171 SERIES WILL BE DISCONTINUED!

We might get lucky, the 162 and 172 could turn out to be better saws than the 170. About all you can say about a 170, it is a pretty good saw for the money.

Like-New 028 AV Super VS New Echo?

Stihl guy here, but between those two saws for around the same money each, I would buy the new Echo CS-590.

Stihl Farm Boss 038 AVS or 362CM?

If it was me and I just had to get rid of one, I would keep the 362 C-M. The 362 is a newer saw, lighter weight, parts should be available longer, and it has more belt horsepower.

Stihl M-tronic technology-is it worth it

Plus one prefering M-tronic saws. Have a 261 C-M and it runs great.

    Best chainsaw brand?

I have a 261 CM with a 16" bar and like it really well. Like someone already said, if you are going above a 18" bar and plan to keep the bar completely buried in hardwood a lot, move up a size or two in the Stihl Professional line.

    Stihl MS500I

Sort of like buying a pig in a poke, your not going to know what you have until you open the poke. Can't see somebody stripping parts off of a 500I without a really good reason.

    Light weight durable saw

Check out the Stihl 261 or 261 C-M, very nice saws but will likely be higher priced than the Echo 4510.

    MS261CM Diacontinued?

Not all dealers are capable of fully servicing the M-Tronic engine.

    MS261CM Diacontinued?

I just bought one about a month ago, my MS 261 C-M just has "MS 261 C" on the side of the saw.

    Chainsaw 2 Cycle Oil Poll

Go for it man! The way folks love oil threads on this forum, some members might be looking near Frankfort Kentucky for one Farmer_Nate.

How to start an argument? Future of gas powered saws ?

Seems more people using the battery Sawzall type saws than battery chainsaws on small limbs etc.

    Chainsaw 2 Cycle Oil Poll

I would liked to have used a more complete list of oils on the poll, unfortunately this forum only allows 10 choices on a poll, that's why I stated if your prefered oil is not on the list to type it at the beginning of a reply to be counted in the poll results thread. Not perfect, but it was the...

    Stihl announces layoffs

I use saws to work on the farm and lawn service, but I'm like you, buy what I want and I will be the one using them. No bean counters or supervisers to answer as to why I paid $100 more for one brand over the other.
