How do the cast pads work with skinny legs? Concern I won’t be able to get them tight? I’m 5’-7 and 135 lbs!

So I’m in the market for new spurs. I’m still rather new to climbing. I use a set of Kline pole spurs with T pads now. I have narrowed my search to either buckingham steel with the cast aluminum pads, Climb right aluminum with ultralight pads or The gecko steel climbers??

So I just bout this single owner 262xp. Super nice 91 model. So a couple of things. 1- it’s missing a muffler bracket bolt and is leaking bar oil out of it. Not sure it’s the threads are shot? If so can I just drill it out and tap it to a 6mm rather than 5mm. Or do I need a helecoil? 2-...
