Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

The whip is used as a measure,... from tip of bar to tip of whip measures 4 feet,... 1 length of saw = 4' for firewood,.. 2 lengths of saw = 8' for pulpwood,.. 3 or 4 or 5 lengths of saw = logs. The whip is flexible and will easily bend in any direction, so it is not a problem at any time...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Hey guys,.. would just like to say thank you to everyone for your thoughts and advice. I finally got the 372 last night,.. so I thought I would through a couple pics on here,.. It's about as close to new as you will find,.. the guy put a new bar and chain on it for me,.. $500 well spent I...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Finally made up my mind,.. decided to go for the $500 deal on the 372. I found out who the original owner of the saw was and it turns out I know the guy. He bought the 372 for his 17 year old young fella,.. but the young fella didn't enjoy working in the woods. This guy bought a piece of wood...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

I have a 346xp, (love that little saw), that I use for smaller stuff,... and my old 365 I always use on bigger stuff like logs once in awhile or maple for my firewood. I have handled the 562 a little and I was very impressed by it's performance,.. it is probably the better saw for my use these...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

The 372xp is a $1200 saw here in Nova Scotia,.. the prices I was quoted are..$1190, $1149, $1049, $1000, $995,.. plus 15% tax makes the price range from $1368 to $1144,.. so if the saw is as lightly used as the guy says it is $500 a great deal at less than half price of a new one. The 562xp list...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Ok guys, just a little update on my quest for a new saw,... I couldn't make up my mind, (other than I eliminated the ms 362 Stihl from my list), so I decided to let price dictate my decision,.. after calling the only Jonsered dealer and every Husqvarna dealer within a hundred miles each side of...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Yup that is a good price, ..but exchange plus shipping plus taxes and duty would drive the price to atleast $1300... exchange on money alone puts it to $994..lol..but thanks anyway.

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

I had a couple Jonsereds before I bought my 365,.. I have to admit that I did like the straight handle and the Husky felt kinda odd, but I have gotten used to it over the years,... but I would have no problem going back to the Jonsered,... regardless of what I buy for a new saw, I think I will...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Wow,.. Thanks everyone for the replies and advice. No place that I know of around here sells Echo,.. so I have to admit that they never crossed my mind. Lol.. that would be great, but my budget won't allow it. This is what I have been thinking when it comes to autotune vs standard carb. I...

Ok guys,.. it's time for me to get a new 60-70cc saw,... I have been using a 365 Husqvarna for the past 20 years, and it has been an amazing reliable working saw, but it is starting to get tired, so I am planning to replace it but can't really make up my mind what I should replace it with. I...

Well Widow maker, you got me to thinkin about the gear ratio,.....so, I dug around and found the repair manual for these m37s, and it says that the axle ratio is 5.83 to 1,.....so I guess this is telling me that it has 5.83 gears???:confused2: All I know for sure is it is geared realy low.

Anyone still use one of these in the woods?

The winch that is on it is a 8000lb Warn electric, But I have the PTO, and Braiden winch in the barn,...I just haven't got around to putting it on the truck yet. Yup 5.13 gears make it great around the woods.

Anyone still use one of these in the woods?

Yup, it's very reliable,......has never failed me yet. Dad bought it long before I was born, (I'm 40), and he always used it as a workhorse. I have used it in the woods since he passed away in 1991, and it's always ready for what ever I want to put it through. Dad said when I was a toddler he...
