No point in having this pointless debate. I’ll leave it alone and my mind isn’t made up but I don’t think this saw is as busted up as others think. I guess we’ll see

All said and done I’m into this this for $90. Cleaned the carb and didn’t have to touch the settings. It idles and revs like it should. Hope to get it in some wood this afternoon and list it tonight. As for the tank a rubber grommet and brass barb did a decent job. New ms250s are $349. Retail I’m going to list for $225 obo local. If I don’t get what I want for it I will definitely keep this nice saw.

You probably wouldn't get close to that around here for that type of saw when I saw a Husqvarna 353 go for less than $200 and it was in decent shape. I would have bought the 353 but I already have one...Another minus around here with saw buyers is the easy start assembly and the toolless chain adjuster, I don't know how many people have asked me to change them over to the conventional type...

Stihl seems to hold its value in Wisconsin. More of a homeowner saw. Why do the easy starts fail is it due to improper use or bad design? It is so easy to start this saw.

I will - selling on Facebook marketplace. Was offered 200 in less than 24 hours. I’m not worried I know I can get 180 all day. My 025 sold for 160

The easy starts didn't fail, people just didn't like 'em. I can't say I like them either.
My MS250 has been changed over from the easy start and I like it better...Stihl MS250 003.JPG

That’s interesting I used it an think it’s the easiest starting / most user friendly saw. It would be great for a homeowner or someone with bad shoulders.

We've had a few older gentlemen that came into the shop looking for an easy start to buy but nobody ever wanted them changed over to an easy start. Many people who have an easy start don't know how to properly use them and think they're defective when they're not. They might be good for someone who is weakened because of old age or injury but I question whether they should be using a chain saw.

Update. Chainsaw is sold for 200 bucks. Had 90 into it. A good flip!
