i have a mculloch super pro 60 with a broken recoil assembly cover. Where the spring winds there are three areas of metal that connect together. They are all broken from what I remember, cracked.
I have bronze flux coated brazing rods, is there any reason this would not work? I believe the assembly is made of magnesium...
any input would be great

Damn. What kind of rod would you recommend?
All I have access to is a flux core mig and a cutting torch...

Lol well doing some reading it’s clear that the melting point is lower for the base metal. Also it could catch on fire!
Hmm well this is a doozy. Maybe I could try a solder repair... I’ll have to do some research

I feel like that part is common enough to not warrant a repair. Isnt it the same as a 10-10 recoil?

I would also think it would be cheaper and easier to just replace it, there are tons of parts out there for McCulloch saws. Only Tig Torch and proper filler rods will work on mag saw parts, no solder will work.
