Different OEM 044 Mufflers

Wasting time looking at modified and stock mufflers for the 044. Kept reading of either removing or drill holes in the baffle of the stock muffler. Watched a video of a fellow doing that very thing. Didn't recall seeing a baffle in my saw, so I just went and looked - and nope, no baffle. No sign of there ever having been one. Just an empty box with a screened 3/4" hole and a forward facing diverter on the chain side.

Besides the European saw with a catalyst, how many different oem mufflers fit the 044?

There are 4 different mufflers depending on the version and country.

Ignoring the cat, is one any better than another? Without defining what sets them apart I saw mention of a Canadian and Australian versions. Plus my empty box and the model with a baffle.

I think they made a dual port cover.

Ignorant on 044, I'm happy with my 038s.

But, I'm getting 3 free 044s soon......
