Hello.

I've just purchased a used Makita DCS340 / PS340 from an auction. I only paid a small fee for it. After a quick cleanup its seems to start and run fine. I need a new bar chain and sprocket for it. The original sprocket/ drum says 3/8-6 on it.
Am I correct in thinking that a 3/8lp 1.3mm chain will be okay to run on it? I'm thinking of installing this oregan bar 160GPEA041 but undecided on chain type.

Sorry for the noob question, not had a lot to do with the maintenance side of chainsaws.

Also, is there a muffler mods worth doing on this budget CS?

Thank you
Dan

The mount is an A041 and the chain is a 3/8 lp .050. You want an aggressive chain in Oregon then 91VXL. Never had one of the smaller Dolkita so I can’t comment on muffler mod.
