I am not an arborist but I hired a company to drop several problem trees this week. After experiencing a nasty wind storm on December 14 here in Washington State, I decided to have trees dropped, especially after watching what near 100 MPH winds were doing to the trees. Just lucky none fell, the biggest in the photo was about 50 feet from the house and would have caused a lot of damage if it blew over. Watching it during the storm I was sure it was going to fall. We had about $15,000 in damage to a small barn roof, doors on the big barn, fence damage and greenhouse damage. All from wind, no trees fell. Lucky! Lots of trees down and power outages in the area.
The guys brought this with them: Only 345 hours on the hour meter:
The climber was amazing. One of the trees was not accessible by the lift. He spent most of the day on the hooks. This one was about 150 feet high.
The Morbark got a work out. 5 loads in the truck.
Now I have a bunch of logs to buzz up for firewood.
