Can anyone tell me a good place to get a pointless coil for a red, white, and black Super EZ? I don't see any on ebay or chainsawr that are pointless. Am I missing a keyword or something on ebay or is it a wait till one shows up deal?

One has to be careful on that model, you have to get the coil that matches the flywheel.
I thought that pointless was pointless. Am I wrong? Should I just try to get a neighbor who's an electronics whiz to "rebuild" the coil?

No, there were 2 different brands used, and their flywheels had reversed polarity, so you had to use the matching flywheel/coil.

And to make it even more fun, both flywheel versions, had the same part number.........

This was back in the early 1990's when I found this out, back when one could call Homelite on the phone, and actually talk to someone that knew what he was talking about......

You need to bake it first. I have had an 80% success rate in baking the coil as laid out in the link that HarleyT posted.
