I agree, if these pictures and video had been posted first, the saw would likely be sold by now.I believe you cleaned that saw up nice. Believe if you had done that first, you would not have gotten all that crap. You may want to keep it now.
No offence, but that's a new piston? I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. My ms361 piston that ran lean due to the carb, and has been run on a mill for most of it's life so far looks better than either of those cylinders you showed. I'm sorry if you find some of us rude or mean, but we are just saying that what we see is not you are trying to tell us. Many of us have countless hours under those covers and have seen much more than you could imagine. You have to remember you are talking to the best informed forum of all things saw and arborist related, trying to play it off as something else isn't going to work. Good luck to you on your sale. How that piston look's ? Here is a new one....
I don't know what your used to looking at but buddy, it don't get much better than that. I suppose you want a cylinder leak-down and a hydrocarbon reading before you believe? Because I can do it, but it the reading's are better than a new saw you going to give me 500 for it?
That's just not right, if that's new you have some problems with your supplier .How that piston look's ? Here is a new one....

There! I went ahead and did this saw yesterday and all night, so I hope all my little kids are happy now . Should I even bother checking the compression?
And thistell it to us straight and not be a used car salesman about.
Well done.....this bloke has more moves than an open can of worms! Lol.What happened to the Home Depot rental saw (the one with the engraved Home Depot rental ID) in your first pic?View attachment 602308
Sorry that happened.I bought a saw from him back in June. It was not what he made it out to be but not bad enough to send it back.
