Back in time, the first saw I "owned" was actually given to me by my father, I don't remember which model exactly but is was likely a 200, it had a short, yellow air filter cover if I recall correctly.

When I started collecting I picked up a 1-10 and before long fell into an SP125, 450, and 1-71. One of the next saws I added was a 300, then....

Mine was a 380. Still trying to get it running.

Is this right? The pro-mac 10-10 has a different bore than an older model? I've got two 10-10 I'm working on, grumpy is a 600013U (75-77) and this other one is 600014u (77-82)

I was looking up piston part numbers, and the IPL states 89783A for the piston, vs the 69212 for the older model. According to this link, the bore is bigger on the newer one at 1.8 vs 1.75. Or is the older one the oddball at 1.75 and the newer are typically 1.8?

I also noticed that the bosses for the coil mount are different heights? But I don't see anything indicating a spacer, or some offset on the electronic coils that would account for that. Easy enough to make a spacer if need be, just wondering if there are shenanigans afoot from a previous owner.

Oh I said it... shenanigans. You can't unread it.

Feel like it's been a century since I've interacted on here... Tied up with work and non saw related projects at the moment..

Contacted Bob Johnson a couple of weeks ago and ordered a NOS 1010 short block for my PM1010. It was a good interaction between him and I! My short block arrived the other day in the mail and it sure is NOS!! I was super excited about it.. until I realized my PM1010 was solid state and I told him that I needed a Short Block that was set up for points ignition...

Totally my fault and don't believe it will work with my PM1010 chassis. But I do have a 10-10A that it will work on that I've been using for Parts!! Just gonna have to call him again and get another Short Block with solid state. Oh well, mistakes happen and I can still make good use of this short block!

The PTO side is SKF 6119 (0.875x0.625). The flywheel side is one of two options, if the seal presses into the wide outer race of the bearing it is 1.375 x 0.625, if it matches the O.D. of the bearing it is 1.5 x 0.625.

You can get top quality new seals for $10 each if you look around a bit.

Hey Jim - I have never heard of an SP55, are you sure about that one? If so, I might be willing to make it worth your while...

Going back up a few posts, I have a1969(?) brochure that shows the Mac 10-10 and 10-10A, the 10-10 has the yellow top and the 10-10A has the black top just like several photo's in this thread show them.

From what I've read on the internet the guys at Mcculloch swapped colors around quite a bit. I've seen plain Mac 10-10s have yellow tops, Mac 10-10As or Automatics have black tops and the later Pro Mac 10-10s are yellow tops as well. With any luck this will somewhat answer the question

It seems like there mostly yellow around me
