Woodie Woodie Woodie, Cant you read son? Why wont you respect this OP's wishes and not mention the fact there are better saws than the 260 and 361 that will most likely be easier on him in the long run? Dont sit there and offer up some outside of the box thinking in this thread because the OP has already clearly stated that other brands arent even in the running, and he isnt even going to bother thinking about them, very well looking at/touching them. I mean,. God forbid we should interject an opinion or something...Heck I work on these things everyday, Ive run 026's, 260's, 260 Pro's, 088's, 066's, 044's, Husky's ranging from a 161 up to a 395XP with a long bar for milling, Ive run all current production Echo's and pretty much at least one of all the older echos with the exception of the 2 cylinder model...and I clearly dont have a clue at to what models may be easier to start and prove to have less wear and tear on the end user. The OP has me beat...I gotta say.

Come on Woodie..dont make me neg rep ya man...:monkey: :hmm3grin2orange:

:chatter:

I had a 361 for about a month and absolutely loved it. But it lacked power for what I wanted to do. The first 48" red oak I cut through proved that. Went to a 460 and have not looked back. I don't know if it was just me or not, but I think the AV on the 460 is not up to snuff with the 361, it seems to vibe quite a bit more than the 361. But that could just be because I push it so much harder.

48" red oak for a 361? LOL

You made a better choice with the 460, it has rubber mounts for it's AV where the 361 has springs. I like the way my 460 handles better......

Yeah, I can hear my inlaws now... sayin' what can we use now to pick on this Texan! LOL The big shame is though, how as a Army Veteran (9yrs service), American Citizen, Hard working family man, has to pay $8.00 for two gallons of 93 Octane Sunoco to run his new heatin' wood supplien saw!!! Dadgun shame!

Congrats and welcome to the 361 club.
Now go find you {if you can} someone with an Echo so you can have a really good laugh. Just don't pee in your pants from the laughter.

The only Echo that I will ever get is the wholesome growl of this 361 coming back at me after I shut her down in the mountains when I'm through cutting wood! Aren't Echo products made in Korea by Mexicans that speak fluent Greek? Just my :looser: two cents worth!! LMAO

Kioritz Corp. is actually based in Japan, and as we all know, The Japanese are on the Cutting edge of pretty much every field they decide to delve into. Small Air cooled 2 strokes included.

Echo was originally called "Kioritz Corp. of America" and was later renamed "ECHO". They were initially an importer of the High Performance 2 strokes made by Kioritz corp. of Japan. Echo Equipment is Manufactured in Lake Zurich, Ill. Echo is still a subsidiary of Kioritz Corp. of Japan.
