I have a 43" Water Oak that's dead and dry. No rot as far as I can tell. My 041 is not running and I'm left with a MS 260 pro. I plan on plunge cutting just in case to avoid the barber chair. I know it's not ideal but I could use some advise on a 24" or 25" bar that will oil well with the 260 and chain that will keep the saw from working harder than I'm already having to push it. It has a 0.325 rim sprocket. Thanks in advance!

I ended doing exactly what you said. Bought a 3/8 rim here locally and used the 84 link bar and chain from my 041. Couldn't find a skiptooth blade anywhere locally so I just went with the full chisel I had. The 260 struggled but got er done. Took a while. Been busy and wore thin. Sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for responding!
