Im a little surprised, seeing as Briggs owns Ferris/Simplicity, that They would put the Cat Diesel in the Biggest Z they offer, instead of the Vanguard Diesel.

The IS-5100 is a Hoss though, Considering it is 8K more expensive than a Cobalt, has much more power, a 72" optional deck, Diesel engine, 2mph ground speed, Id expect it to really topple the 5.1 acres per hour capability the Cobalt has..

Ultra, Im assuming you are a Ferris Dealer. Are you having trouble with the Front wheels being deleivered without any grease in them? WE had a Simp come back a day after it was sold, both frotn wheels were barely rolling..Tapered bearings on one side of both wheels were toast. Of course we put grease in al lthe fittings for sales prep, and sure enough when I pulled the wheels off the casters and knocked out the seals and the little metal bung things the bearings ride on, one bearing was covered in grease, it was the one nearest the grease fitting, and the other bearing was clean and dry...identical on both wheels. New bearings, hand packed all the bearings, put it together and good as new...just looks kinda bad with that happening to a new mower.

All the ferris's we sell are fully greased & leveled before they are sold. A few years back we had a customer buy two ferris hydrowalk mowers from a dealer up the road cause they were a few dollars cheaper. They did not last a day when all the spindles burnt up from no grease. Ferris at the time barely greased anything out of the factory and the only prep the dealer did to the unit was put a JD Dealer sticker on it.

Ferris lists the IS5100Z at 7.2 Acres per hour (80% Efficiency). We've sold some of the IS5000Z/IS5100Z but for the price tag you're better off upgrading into a Ventrac http://www.ventrac.com. Our most popular Zero Turns are the IS4500Z, IS3100Z, IS2000Z, and the IS1500Z for homeowners or light commercial.

I'm assuming the 361 can use both .050" and .063 gauge chains? As in the 33 or 36 series?

Match the chain gauge to the bar. Match the pitch of the chain to the sprocket tip on bar and the drive sprocket on chainsaw.

What gauge bar came with the saw?

Fred

PS I think I spent some time squirrel hunting over dogs in Coudersport. I'd have to look at a map to be sure.

WoodlandPro X-series chain is made with Oregon LG type cutters on a heavy duty chassis to give you one fast cutting chain. Chisel cutters work well in both softwoods and hardwoods. 30XC works best in clean cutting conditions, where there is limited contact with dirt and other abrasive materials. Chain is .375 pitch x .050 gauge. 30XC fits saws using Oregon 72 series and Stihl 33 series chain. 30XC chain sharpens with a 7/32" round file or 3/16" grinding wheel.

Killer dude. Just remember to allways let it warm up for a minute or two when its cold & let it idle a little before turning it off. Shut it down for re fuel at just below 1/4 tank. :chainsaw:

LG "style" made by Carlton... :monkey:

hmmm... Where is it made?

Go back to your dealer and ask for a "deal" on a couple of nice chains... or even Ebay sellers sell Stihl or Oregon chain.

Stihl chain is the best...

Who's chain is Baileys selling under the "Woodland" label today?

I agree with you Lake, I have two loops of RSC for my 371 3/8"x.058" x 24", but looking at the number of saws I am maintaining, I am looking at the WP to try it out.

I liked Carlton, but with the blount buyout, I don't know who's making what.

Last time I heard Carlton was making some of their Woodland pro.

I asked both my Stihl dealers in town for a reel price and both were over $400 for 100'.

My dealer quoted me $18 for Stihl chain... is that about right?

For that price, I'd go with stihl.

I think I paid $30 for 28" loops for my 660.

I am going to have to look at the numbers again.... Something isn't adding up.

Can't remember DL count on the 28" off the top of my head.

Fred

We sell (over the counter only) Stihl chain in boxes for about $275 to pro customers... Masden's are less, but they are 100 miles way. There's no need for dealers to give away their business to mail order... but... that's their business.
