Here are a few things that are really nasty to throw into a fire and will really make your neighbors love you.

Used diapers
Litter box waste
Styrofoam
Tires
Railroad ties
Burning insulation off of copper wires
Dead/bad batteries
Lye
Any kind of florocarbon, freons, cloroform, carbon tetrachloride, halons
Radioactive material/spent nuclear fuel rods

And I am sure plenty more nasty stuff I haven't thought of quite yet.

had a neighbor a few years back that worked for a siding company, He was always burning piles of waste plastic siding. he always had the neighborhood stunk up and he wasn't real close to me. I guess someone turned him in or threatened him cause he stopped doing it after a while.

Boy that makes me think of my grandfather,he was depression era generation. He would get that old knob and tube wiring with that tar soaked looking insulation. He would say we will build a fire tonight when its dark so the cops wont pinch us. That stuff could really make some black smoke.:)

LOL, Speaking from experience are ya. I have done it too. Didn't get the eyebrows though.

Nice.

I'm not sure I would have, or will, admit that. It'll be our little secret though!;)

Heehee! Never used gasoline in a wood burner, but I get rid of the old, stale gas (and some other old accelerants) by using a little to start the outside burnpile. Fooom!

When I was a kid, my father singed his eyebrows by starting the burnpile with gasoline. The good thing was that he wasn't injured, just startled. The smell was something terrible.

I burned some left over vinyl siding scraps from my house once. The wind direction changed and before I knew it couldn't hardly breath. Nasty stuff. Wouldn't try that again.

Ohhh, That wouldn't be a pretty picture, Trying to light a wood stove with gas. can't imagine anyone doing that. I have used it on brushpiles. i would always sprinkle a little away from the pile so when you lit it the fiire would follow the trail till it got to the pile which was a little bit away from me.

so your telling me that i cant throw the old rods into the fire that i have in my nuke sub? come on man, your no fun.

few years back a guy in the next town over tried to burn about 500 skidder tires, the whole town and a few others were totally engulfed in black smoke, it took the police about 10 mins to show up. :dizzy:

Geez, That was a mess.

I usually use old spray paint cans and/or batteries to get the furnace going after it has gone out. smells bad and burns the eyes and lungs a bit, but it works great.

...kidding.

Eyebrows.
(Don't start a fire with gasoline.) :greenchainsaw:

Did you know that non-dairy creamer is flammable? Only when airborne though. My brother was holding a match and a guy threw some NDC at him and it did a number on his eyebrows.
