odd i know since summer has just started. i find myself looking at woodstoves and thinking mmmm thats nice. nice warm fire like that. seems we just shut em down and i miss it already. oh well it will be here soon enough i suppose.

I dunno if I "Miss" it, but not having a fire goin' in the living room 24-7 changes the whole "Rythm" of things around here.

I wince every time the AC kicks on, and then remember it isn't the furnace LOL!!

I keep looking at the wood pile, and pile of rounds I have yet to split on the way back in from the field, and keep thinking I gotta get busy on one of these cooler days when I am not busy LOL!!

4 more months or less and it will be back to burning though.

Stay safe!

I had a fire in the fireplace at the cottage fri and sat night at the wife's request. Sassafras w/ it's many colors and popping and crackling...granted I had to sit across the room and all the windows were wide open. I didn't complain so I guess I was missing it.

I don't miss it. Been trying to enjoy our short summer but have been thinking I only have about 3 more months till it's time to fire it up again.:jawdrop:

No, I need a break from the daily routine but my wife has been grumbling about the hot water ever since we shut the OWB down. Come the first crisp fall day I will be back in the mood.

No. Between cutting , work and short days I was getting behind on my stacking. I'm not cold and there are a few sticks in there for that first frost warning later this year. Summer gives me a chance to get it all stacked from the last bout of cutting. This reminds me , I need to run the brush through the chimney a few times.

It's been 100° or more here the last week or so. No fear of freezing to death this time of year.

I miss the idea of burning, but winter is my favorite season. My vegetable garden is what gets me through summer. I love growing vegetables almost as much as cutting firewood.

Amen KsWoodsman, this 100 degree heat is for the birds!

Hard to say if I miss burning or simply miss cooler weather. The two go hand in hand. Lets just say that I am looking forward to Autumn.

Hasn't been long enough to miss. Had a fire last week. The way things are shaping up, I might be getting one going on July 4th. :(

From what I understand, some of you in other parts of the country are seeing some real warm temps.:D

I don't miss burning, but I do miss cutting some. Really like seeing the chips fly from the MS361 and smell of freshly cut / split red oak.

Took a short walk through the woods last evening checking out the dead standing oaks. In October they will have a date with the chainsaw.

I get my fix from burning while camping over the summer months.

The hardest part is sorting through the stacks and deciding which piece gets burnt during summer and which one gets saved for winter. :dizzy:

Don't quite miss it yet since I just shut it down 2 weeks ago. All of April and May I was burning "junk" wood that was laying around, poplar, pine, etc. Instead of a bonfire this year I used all of that wood to heat the DHW. We are currently working on installing a pool so I think I'll fire up the OWB just so we can fill the pool with warm water. I'm also looking at the heat exchangers for pools so the burner might get a little more use in the summer than originally planned. Come to think of it, I might be installing this stupid pool just so I can justify burning wood all year.

I kinda miss burning, but then I realize that I was just burning 2 weeks ago and if the temps keep up the way they are going I may be burning tonight.

Since my Dad passed away in May I missed allot of time that I could have been stocking up. Also I try to get back to my Mom's place every couple of weeks to help her out. So I am way behind schedule this year, hopefully we don't get frost in August this year and the temps stay above freezing at least until October.
