That is the plan, going out at 3:30 to try and get a cheap laptop at 5, home by 6:30 and out to the woods for an hour or two of deer hunting, then it's time to unleash the beasts, at least till the urge for leftover turkey and an afternoon nap sets in, and maybe back out for another hour or two of hunting or cutting in the afternoon (depends on mood and ambition).

Running a splitter

I'm going to be running the splitter tomorrow. I need to finish up the pine for sugaring. Then I might split some hardwood for sale. I need to stack up what I split today. Everyone have a good weekend.

I was out there today at 8:30am-9am Gave the neighbors a break then again 10am-11am. Did a nice cord. Then it was time to prep for company. Nothing will stop me for splitting....well....rain..... and I'm getting it tomorrow. Damn!

Maybe I'll setup a nice tarp over me. :)

I got 3 more cords of Elm to split and 3 Giants rounds. I need at least 5 hours.

Supposed to be decent my way tomorrow as well, looks like this weekend will be the last fairly warm one for a while. Will probably cut some rounds and start stacking. Wish our land renters would come and pick the corn, have a big Oak out in the pasture that was struck by lightning a few years ago and didn't survive this growing season, would drop it in the field tomorrow and get started on it but need to wait till the crops are out.

Instead of fighting the crowds, anyone going to the woods and spending some quality time with their saws?

I wish!
I would love to spend some more time in the woods, but it's raining right now, been doing it for over an hour! Plus, I have a J.O.B. to go to tomorrow:censored: If it was'nt for the medical benefits, it would be a bummer! I would like to get into that tree again!?

Rain does suck, hopefully it will be the white stuff soon, that doesn't bother me like rain does. Forecast for tomorrow here is down to 24 tonight, then sunny and 45 tomorrow, with little to no wind. Should be a t-shirt day!

Sorry, didn't mean to make you guys getting rained on

I wish, have a family get together to attend. The good part is that its at my uncles place, about 20 acres, mostly locust. He's got a few cherry trees he wants taken down. Gonna take a walk and look at them. They will probably be my excuse to by an Alaskan mill. Need to take some measurements to see if my 28" bar is gonna be enough to get the job done, he says they're huge. No time to cut but can't wait to scout out some future work.

Rain and low 40s here tomorrow. Looks like it's a day to clean the house :)

Cut and hauled wood for a couple hours this AM before heading over to my sister's.

It was a pain handling wood -- lots of pieces slipped out of my wet gloves.

Weekend looks cool but dry...hoping to bring in about 1/4 cord I have split and waiting, plus split and haul down another 1/2 cord I have blocked up...would've liked to finish the other 1/2 cord I'll need for the season but looks like enough other things are already planned for this weekend to keep that from happening.

family get togethers means you have more hands around to haul brush out of the way...

I'll be out, gotta cut up that oak tree

I told my mom today that I could use a 28" bar for Christmas. Maybe she'll bite:D Hope my help shows up. There is AT LEAST another 2-3 cord in that oak. gonna burn good.

Yup, planning on going out and dropping some trees. I'll have to wear orange though. Hunting season is still going on. I'll be cutting on public land. Not sure if I should bring the skidsteer or wait with that another day.

i'll be cutting with the 056 tommorow, because it bellers like hell. the main reason is because my illinois neighbors are up deer hunting and they called the cops on me for running my saws at 3am. so im gonna run it all day tommorow to scare the deer away :D

If it doesnt rain Im gonna put up the Christmas tree then cut wood. If it rains Im gonna put up Christmas tree and think about cutting wood.:)

I sure hope to cut tomorrow but like others I think low 30's and rain is in the forecast.

And I'm really looking forward to dicing up some logs for Dad with four of
my brothers and shutting up my next oldest one with my new 7900. He's been talking trash all week that his 1980's vintage echo is going to tear it up!
(It's all in good fun!)
I think the 361 will take that old girl no problem. And as a bonus I can show them a splitter isn't neccessary when you can noodle up those big ash rounds in minutes with a big saw. Please Lord, let it rain another day...

I'd wait, it is a Deere - liable to get killed by some non resident out in the woods :D

3AM? I've been thinking of heated handles, but do ya have headlights on that old beast?

Both of ya, bring the guns with. I've had more bambi sightings while working in the woods than hunting this year. .270 will be riding with me tomorrow for sure!
