Why no old Husqvarna saws.

i see pics of of older models of all the other saws everywhere, But very rarely see an old husky. Not tryin to start a war here, just wondering why. Are some i see here old ones because they haven't changed the looks of them in years. Is it because people that have them hang on to them and don't sell them.

Now i'm talkin saws from the 40s to the early 70s

How many years have they made saws?

I like husqvarna saws and would like to have one, also like lookin at vintage saws, but hardley ever see one.

Maybe some of the pics i see are older models and they just don't look to different from the new ones. I dunno. Figured you guys would know why if anybody did.

I did do a search and come up with nothing, Even tried googling old husqvarna saws and didn't get much. Thanks for any info ya'll have.

Hey, I'm no Swede lover, but I've wondered the same thing now and then. I'll bet you get as many pics in this thread of the oldest Husqvarnas in existence. If folks in here have them, they'll show us!

I am not sure what year they started making huskys but the oldest ones i have seen in person are from the 80s

That would be sweet, i've seen a couple old ones and they were really neat lookin.

i hope no arguement starts cause that is not my purpose. I don't think it will go that way. Some pics of old husky's would be nice though.

Husqvarna might be over 300 years old as a manufacturer, bu tthe first commercial chainsaw didn't come until 1959.

No old saws because there were none. And the ones made before approx. 1980 don't appear that often compared to Stihl, Mac, Homelite, Pioneer, etc.

old huskys

65,77 I'm not sure when these models were introduced in North America.In 1975 ,I was using Homelite SuperXL Automatics,some Macs.Cut a job where another cutter had a saw with the muffler in the front.What a concept.That was a 280 Husky.After that no more domestic saws.Ran the gammut of Jreds/huskys over the years.My memories of an early 162 with heated handles shorting on rainy days still makes my ------- pucker.Should be alot of 65/77,263,280.380.480,181,185,1100's...around still.I'm feeling old.Old wood cutters don't die we just use smaller saws.Much smaller.Anybody have any early Husky stories?

My 29 year old husky is in my avatar. It is a daily driver, and I use it all the time. Best saw I ever owned.

The first Husky came in 1959, unless you count the prototype "Alaska One" (that never was anywhere near Alaska).

I don't think many were exported to the US before the 180-series, starting in 1969 or so.

Good question Double S - I just looked at Husqvarna on Acre's site, here's an A65, came out in '68. In my own opinion only, there's not a lot of pics of them cause they're goofy lookin!

Some good answers so far. Looks as if none were here until the late 60s. Were the older saws better than the new ones?
