I'm somewhat confused, are these fixed jet carbs? If not, I didn't realize needle seats were removeable.

It depends on the model of carb. Some have a "fixed main jet" and a fixed secondary jet. Some have replaceable main jets and fixed secondary jets. Earlier carburetors on 066s from the early/mid 90's that were rated at a higher H.P. typically had larger main jets which are replaceable and larger fixed secondary jets.

But if my carb is able to supply sufficient fuel to the engine, how would this other carb help?

Well it depends on whether you're looking for more R's and additional changes to the power band. Like I said, there's a reason those early to mid 90's 066s were rated for more power and one reason was that the carbs supplied a little more fuel.

Your tractor Stihl looks/sounds great.
Question though.
How would this be for milling? The extra torque would help for sure, but since milling is so hard on saws. Since they are WOT and pulling hard all the time, sill this setup beat a stock 088, or even a 066?

The carb I have on it is a WJ6. It does not have a replaceably jet. I opened the venturi up yesterday by 1mm.

Here's where I'm confused JJ. An engine requires a certain amount of fuel for a given amount of air. I'm giving it all the fuel it needs for the air this carb is flowing. The only thing that would make an improvement is if it flowed more air, right? And I opened the venturi by 1mm already. I'm not sure how a different jet would matter as long as I can tune for the air the carb is flowing. Am I missing something here?

As long as you're getting enough fuel then you're probably alright. I wasn't aware you'd opened up that carb some. I was thinking of terms you want more R's but if you're getting a good RPM range now then that's good enough.

I want all the RPMs I can milk out of it. I'm just not understanding how the WJ-66 will help that. I'm certainly not saying it won't, just asking how it could.

Here's the 066 again. I ran it against a new ported MS660 and the 066 bested it by a slim .3 seconds in 29" Oak.

That's a beautiful piece of wood - would make some great milling. Shame to use it for cutting cookies but then I must say you are getting damn good at cutting those thin cookies.

Great sounding and cutting saw by the way. LOL
