You going to go cry now or what? I have not decided what saw i want i just liked the echos saws since of the price. Show me a brand new 372 for $600 bucks, i did not see one although i really didnt search to hard.

Is this how this forum is full of a bunch of cry babies, its $600 that im going to give up for a new saw, i kinda wanna do my homework before i go spend, and i dont need some crybaby getting butthurt because i didnt choose the saw he recommended me right then and there.

You are a prick.

Baileys still has Makita 6401 for a bit over 600 I think as well. Should also make more power than the Echo right away and gives you the option to upgrade to 84cc later when money isn't as tight.

I pulled the Echo ipl and it does seem to be metal crankcase which is good. I still can't find a HP rating anywhere so it is probably a pretty weak saw but at least its not reed valve.

The two better options in the price range for new are Stihl 362 or the Makita 6401. Used best bet would be 372 or Jred 2171

I don't think anything you buy will be bad. You are cutting what, 20" trees? called it "Felling"?

Nuf said. Just buy a saw and don't cut yourself.

Complete your Echo line up. You could be the first guy on AS to have the whole current line up! :greenchainsaw:

I'm thinking Dolmar PS6400 or better yet PS7900 if there are a lot of 16-20" in there, otherwise you could make do with PS5105 or Husky 350/346, or maybe those Redmax G5000s that Amick's is giving away. Too bad the $300 56cc Cub Cadets are all gone.

I seen a jonsered 2171 with 24" bar half wrap at the coop near here for $650 plus tax. That's a 372 with straight handle bar and better looking plastic for under $700 out the door. Prices might be higher in your area.

Thank you, you redeemed yourself i got the baileys catalog right here and over looked the makita. Thats actually in my price range. Anywhere sell a Stihl 362 for less then $670? Just looked up the local dealers.

You little prick. Neg rep a guy who would be more than happy to help you out. Can't have fun. BOO HOO

Oh well. Don't really care either way

While it might be a little bit out of your price range, I bought a Dolmar 7900 this Spring and I'm impressed with it. Like it was said before, you could get the 6400 and swap out the cylinder to make it a 7900 if you feel it's underpowered.
The 7900 is listed at 6.3 hp and 13.6 pounds. The 6400 weighs the same but it's 4.8 hp.

Im fond of that 362 looks like a really nice saw. I dunno if the dealers are high priced around here or what but with a 20" b/c combo they are $670. How does that sound?

yup, I got red rep from him for my troubles. For giving real advice too. Then he says I 'redeemmed' myself after giving negative rep when he looks up what I'm suggesting and realizes its good advice.

Maybe I won't be helping the young ####s make sense of saw specs anymore. What an attitude. Unbelievable. Young and Dumb. Lippy little squirt decides to ask a question then pisses on the folks that take the time to answer.
