I had hoped to do it as an 046BB, but my parts order has gone sideways somewhere between the time I spoke to the customer rep on the phone and the 47th parralel

Just a few pics on a 440 to 460 conversion. a number of minor spots that needed some grinding to get the jug to sit down into the 440 frame. The bolt holes also need a bit of slotting to take them about 1mm inward mostly in the front to back direction.

Carb is already done up, just a little port, piston and muffler work to do.

Great saw. I built one for a local climber. Nobody around here runs any type of modified saw. These guys absolutely rave about that thing! LOL If they only got to see some of the stuff on here.

ive built several of those hybrids and none were lacking for torque or rpm. sounds like something was not quite right with it if it had no torque.

Wigglesworth, has one and its pretty strong for that sized of a saw.

090g

Ah, yes, if we are comparing it to a 090g then it was likely just a little weak feeling, LOL.

A few pics to compare old ports vs new. The new ones are just roughed in so still may tweak the durrations a bit and yet to give them final finnish.

I didn't like it, it wasn't worth grinding away on the case to relieve it. In a nutshell, it wasn't impressive. IMO

Oh, I'm comparing it to a 440

Why were you grinding on the case? There shouldnt be any case grinding to fit it. If it lacked torque, you had something out of wack.

Thanks for the thread TW. I have 3 044/440's that are getting 046 tops in the making right now. ;)

What are you using for the bottom muffler bolt spacers?

something definately not right, a 460 has more hp than a 440 period so why would you have not gained anything by putting the 460 on a 440 case. if you ported it too high you would have lost some torque. ive never heard a complaint on the hybrid more hp and lighter than the 460. jmho
