May I ask how you machine the combustion chamber? Or is it top secret? Seems like that would be the way to go.. But would a pop up add turbulence to the mix?

Great looking work! I know you can do magic on 7900s. Joats was impressive!

Yeah I'd be curious to see how you mount the cylinder. Maybe I'm over thinking this but it seems like the cylinder would need a special fixture to mount in the chuck. Set up seems like it would be painful!

I've mounted a few on the milling table by milling a flat spot on top then using that as a starting point. I use the bolt holes to bolt it to the table slots. On a flat plate you could use hollow tubing as stand offs thru the holes......

I also would like to see some pictures. :)
 
Yeah I never thought about doing it in a Mill. Not sure which Eric is doing...Might be in a mill.

Is it top secret ? NO not really I havent ever taken and pictures of how I do it .
I have done it both on the lathe and the mill the set up jig is the key tho...

Base plate.......Remember there's more than one way to skin a cat!......and the hard work is getting things true on the holding fixture.

Not quite how I do it but like you say more than one way to skin a cat !
instead of a pin why not mill the fins a tad flater ? sure seems like it would be easier to index in :msp_unsure:
