wrist pin press

i made this up for my 4000 and it works fine. just some 10-24 all thread, 2 coupling nuts, 2 washers, a spacer smaller than the wrist pin and a socket it will slide into.
makes it easy to press the wrist pin out and back in.
cheap too !

pushing pin out. the socket will be against the piston.

going back in. i put a washer between the piston and the socket to act as a stop.

mark, you're exactly right on stripping out the regular nuts!
the rod seems fine after 4 jobs.
the couplers spread the load out. a little oil doesn't hurt either.
on the last one i ran it on there with my screw gun ! once you get it moving, it goes easily.

You can heat the rod with a propane torch when putting them back in and that makes it alot easier. I have pushed them back in by hand that way, but you gotta be fast.

Getting them out is the real problem as you are well aware.
