Some of you need to learn the difference between dogs and spikes.

Enlighten me please. I have heard them called 'bumper spikes', 'felling spikes', 'dawgs', 'dogs', 'felling dawgs', 'felling dogs'....I am sure there are more just can't think of them at the moment.

Nice pics! So dogs are the small ones? I'm having a little trouble differentiating between the spikes and bucking spikes though...:msp_confused:

The only place it matters what you call your dogs, or spikes, or whatever is inside randymacs head.

Honestly I think it is just a matter of geographics and demographics as well. Different folks, different places, different name for them.

BTW, how far north are you 064AV? I live in Kootenai County.

Bucking spikes usually are either in pairs or have a claw hammer like appearance, although there are modified falling spikes with a "tooth" that extends down, below the standard lower spike. Falling spikes are a single set.
The modern versions I see look like tweeners, not really spikes, but more than traditional dogs.

sorry about the short version, got skunks in the sallyport

Shoot them in the lungs then they can't spray, they use chest and diaphram pressure to clinch they will leak though, old trappers trick..
