Gregg,

No offense but if its spitting that much fuel from the muffler, you need to take that carb back to your friend and have him do it right this time. Sounds like the inlet needle is set wrong or damaged. Make sure the meetering side diaphragms and gaskets are in the right order as well.

I bellieve the same thing Mark.Maybe my friend made mistace and confused.I am assuming that the new diaphragms are wrong.I''ll tell you this,if i screw the shorter needle on the hi and the longer on low,the saw starts at 2.5 turns but it spitting a lot of mix out from the muffler and it runs really reach. If i do the opossite, the shorter on low and the longer on hi,the saw runs only at a half turn the low and one turn the hi.It is really strange.

Do you know what carb is on it?

Mike

Yes i do Mike,it's a Walbro WT 662A

Are you sure?I am asking because i think that the long needle was to the hi and the short to the low.I am not 100% sure.

Got up early, signed into Site, went to Poulan stickie and saw what! 1000pages. Great accomplishment. Obviously there are a lot of Poulan guys out there. Nik, thanks for the idea. BTW where is NiK?

Yeah, I got one of those 36 inch long 3 ft bars to fit on my 655 too. Get winded walking from one end to the other. :dizzy:

Someone could have switched the needles. I like the carbs that are "idiot proof" with a different diameter needle for low and high side. It sounds like you might need to lower your inlet lever to where it belongs, which in most cases is even with the carb body floor next to the lever. It's possible the metering diaphragm is on the wrong side of the spacer gasket. The metering diaphragm should be the first thing you see when you take off the metering diaphragm cover.

Thank you for your answer.I finally was able to get it run with the following settings:2.5 turns the low and only a half turn the high(i am 100% sure that the saw was running at 2-2.5 turns both screws before i get the carb to my friend). It runs almost ok but i noticed something else. When i push the primer balb,it leaks gas from the intake of the carb. The primer balb is installed correct.

Anyway,i don't want to waste your time.I spoke with my friend and he told me that we will check it tommorow.I'll tell you what happened. Thanks again guys.

Kostas, glad it seems to be looking up for you now. Sorry we are on the other side of the globe and you pretty much have to post when we are sleeping and vice versa.

Nick
