Husqvarna Chainsaw 3120 XP | eBay odd looking saw with a 18" bar...... $850 BIN

It actually makes a lot of sense to sell a saw that way. The big bars and chains are expensive, but do not add much to the value of the saw on Ebay. I have 18 and 20" bars coming out out my wazoo, but I don't have enough big bars to outfit all my muscle saws. A good 32-36" bar and chain will get upwards of $100 on Ebay, yet it will not add that much to the power head when sold together.

I think Ambull hit the nail on the head. I just bought a Solo 680 with an 18 inch bar. The bar and chain were a nearly new Powermatch plus. He had the saw listed for $300, so a new big bar and chain would have been 1/3 of his asking price. I did use the small bar as a bargaining chip, though.

Husqvarna 288xp chainsaw chain saw xp 32" good runner | eBay

I do hope that who ever bought this saw knows the picture in the auction could not be the saw they are receiving. Auction was for a used 288xp and the pictured saw looks to be a brand new 372xp.

That auction is obviously a scam. They copied the description verbatim from another auction that ended three weeks ago that was actually for a 288.

Yep, including a nice bar and chain doesn't net anymore money. You basically end up throwing a bar and chain away and eating some shipping cost on top since ebay's shipping calculator doesn't allow for two packages.

Homelite 650 750 Muffler Assembly | eBay

I was not going to post this but now I have to with the current price. $202 for a Homelite 650/750 muffler and it still has 4+ days to go!!

Maybe I should "can" my 750 build and part it out......

Ouch! That's spendy. Looks like it's in exactly the same condition as the muffler on the saw I'm working on. I was quite happy when I discovered that the rattling muffler was only caused by loose bolts. Muffler itself was fine.

Wow. A year ago I paid like $175 for an NOS cylinder, and I thought that was expensive. Prices have sure gone up.

Almost cheaper to buy a whole saw.
I can't believe a muffler is over 2 bills.

Saws and parts are only "worth" this kind of stupid money if knuckleheads are willing to pay it (and obviously they are, given the auction results). It's a vicious circle. Lately I've seen several parts (that were in my 'watch' list on feebay) get relisted at prices 50% or more higher than the previous listing. Same part. Same description. Same pics. Collector saws are going the way of baseball cards, muscle cars, old motorcycles, and everything else.....:msp_unsure:
