Why does everyone run 50:1?

Oil is cheap. I can afford a bit more to keep my saw protected. That's why I run 60:1.

I use 50:1 because thats what the manufacturer recommends.

And it is better and cleaner for the environment, meaning less global warming emissions coming out of my equipment than mixes with more oil in them.

My older stuff gets 40:1, which is even less oil that what the manufacturer recommended.

And I run synthetic, which is cleaner burning than regular oil...

I mistakenly ran my saw at 100:1 for over a year with no damage whatsoever.

Once I discovered my mistake, I run at 50:1 Husky synthetic. Let's just say I sleep better this way.
