Pretty hard to beat a ported 70cc saw for a great one saw plan.

The key is having different rim and bar sizes :msp_biggrin:

044/440/441/372/7900, the normal candidates.

Sorry cant agree with that.
AV crap
Filter system crap
Fumes and fuel use crap
Re tune it for winter, summer, temp, different fuel, yep crap

There is a good reason why i have three of them they are the most user freindley, efficient tool to make money with.:msp_rolleyes:

then why did you buy a 461?

Have a look in here and i ex plane why.:smile2:

Or let me remind you

For me nothing will beat a ported 441R CMTronic for a full on work for money firewood saw.
So your probably thinking why does he wont a 461 then, well i will tell ya.
I wont this saw set up for basically for the crap jobs, dry hard Ozzy hardwoods, with a 20'' or 28'' bar and semi chisel chains this type of work ya need a saw with TORQUE bing go a ported 461.
So when i come to a standing or dead Sugergum in the plantations i don't have to use my nice sharp full chisel chains and stuff um with the first cut.

It makes me have a chuckle with all this anti new technology in saws,i wonder what kind of car, truck yas drive every day,do they have EFI,fuel injection, auto adjustable timing advance, turbo, supercharged,ABS,tracksoin control, air bags, stability control and so on.Or do yas drive a 1969 Chev,Mustang,F100 ?.

Oh. Now I see. :)

So if u need a saw to actually work hard, with ample horsepower to get the job done, the 461 is the best choice.

BTW, I wish I had a 69 Chevy. :(

then whats the 660s for? :spam:

Thats about to change the ported 660 is for sale,do you wont it ?.
661 here we come.:)
The stock 660BB kit is for milling.

I hope you blokes all stocked up on the 440/460s while you could.

I have a stock Ozzy model 460 (dual port muff) for sale as well.

For an Old-cat with a beat-up bod, cuttin 20 cords of fir firewood, 2 months out of the year, my old beater hot-rod MS361 is my best worker. I love my new to me MS440 for the big stuff but I prefer the lighter saws. Right now I'm doing a small job for a neighbor and using my new to me MS260, LIGHT, NICE!!
My work is really more like pleasure. The other guy does the part I don't like, splitting.

The one that runs...

has a sharp chain, and the right length guide on it at the time...:msp_wink:
I grab the 51, 61, or 365xt. Either or. They all 3 get with the program.

I was thinking more in terms of; Your bread and butter 5 days a week full time job, or cutting some wood and getting payed. Like work as in working in the yard, and work as in the job that's on your tax form..

The definition of "work saw". What is it?

I my mind a worksaw is a saw that ain't high strung and peaky...with enough bottom end torque to restart the cut when felling in large wood without any trouble....it has to idle like it should and be able to run all day in summer heat.....it also should be equipped with all the choke and air filter parts that it came with......fast idle needs to work correctly so it starts properly too.

That about covers it I reckon.

I work on saws for pay....I don't do any other job for pay. I still dropped about 40 trees in the last month though.

How's this for a work saw

I just picked this one up today. Makita DPC7311 14" cut off saw.
I got it for $275, fresh service, carb rebuild and tune-up. Runs great! Still a good bit of diamond left on the blade. Got some driveway repair and slab cutting/busting to do in my bathroom remodel project. Did I do good? :msp_wink:
