Yep and when you mount them on that Poulan they become 92DL bars!!

So the 4200-8500 sprocket is closer to the bar studs than on large Husky saws? Interesting. I have a 28" D009 powermatch bar that's already had the stud slot opened up to 3/8" (a friend had it on a LF Mac for a bit). I'm going to try it on my 4900 (with 'S' if it has 5/16" studs, and without 'S' if it has 3/8" studs).

Will be interesting to see if I have to run a 92DL chain on it, or if there's enough adjustment to be able to use the 93DL loop. I have both. I should lay that bar alongside a 28" D096 Powermatch (and a 28" Tsumura D096 mount bar) that I have to see if there's any dif in length...

4200

i finally had a chance to look @ my 4200 and it has a S clip on it with a 16" Windsor bar (it is a short but wide bar) and a Poulan labeled chain. The saw appears to be lightly used. View attachment 279314

Aaron, they will run with a new 93DL chain but there almost to the end of the adjustment. They like a 92dl chain just like the originals.

Sweet saw. You are going to really love that 4200 - they are one of the real under rated saws. It will easily pull a bigger bar than that, too.

i picked this one up from her original owner, gentleman was kind enough to give me the manual, extra chain files, well you get the picture. View attachment 279052View attachment 279053View attachment 279055

well i got the 361 to run last night, she has 150 psi, good spark. the gas tank was coated with the remains of ethanol fuel (almost like a coating of tan plasticy stuff. i did the best i could with some diesel fuel and my air tool. i rebuilt the carburetor late last night after the test run so we shall see how she does over the weekend.

Anybody tell me bout the crank on a 3400 and if a top end from a 3700 will swap over to the 3400?

Not sure what you are asking about the crank.
Yes a 3700 top will swap onto a 3400, but you will need to buy or make a piston pin pushing tool.

Mike

I found a way to get the piston off just didn't remember the wrist pin being that small in my 3700. Thanks for the info.

I am in the need for a few s-spacers or the round spring type spacers to run the larger mount bars on some of these old poulans. Can anybody help me out or provide a link to where I can get them? I know this is'nt the swapmeet thread but I figured I'd have better luck here.

I bought one of the "S" clips off eBay the other day. I think the guy had about 10 of them.

Well Gregg,

Looks like you just went into the hat business!!!LOL

If you do decide to make up a run let me know.

Mike

You would think thats the case Mike.:msp_scared: LOL I havn't ordered any YET. I might at some point, but its an expensive endeavor I just don't have the funds for at the moment. I came up with another version, in black, that I thought I might try also. See what ya think of this one.

John, I wish there was an easy, abundant supply of those S-clips out there. I need more of those also. Its amazing how many Windsor type bars I have that could use them. I think I have two of them clips. There must be thousands of those things out there just laying around in old timers tool boxes, barns, sheds, etc. A fella could probably get into the hat and S-clip business, LOL Neither a money making business, unfortunately.
