Heres a question for you though. How's that 339 run? I'd been tempted to buy a rear handle 339 last year but didn't pull the trigger.

Moody: I ran a 339XP for about 5 years. Loved it. That little saw punches above its weight. With a sharp chain, never had any problem edge feathering and cutting down 10-14" elm, locust, oak, etc. (ran a 16" bar on it). Osage orange might've slowed it down a bit. And it was the cat's meow for softer woods like cedar and cottonwoods, of which we cut a lot. It was stolen when ours shop was broken into a year ago. Wish I could get another.

Oh, and back to the question at hand: Around June 8th of this year.

It is a fact (from my side) that there hasn't been a lot to post about lately, so the pace of my posting has fallen off quite a lot the last few weeks. ;)

We'll definitely need to chip in and mail some beer to Norway when he does:biggrin: Husky bias or not (really?), he is one of the members here that I will usually read a thread if his name is on it. Thanks Niko (can I call you Niko, or would you prefer Dr. Troll?) for making the site more fun

I prefere Niko - the PHD idea wasn't mine.

It has developed in that direction during the last 8 years, as a result of what the different brands have done - and not done.:laugh:

To elaborate a little, it was totally 40-40 between Husky and Stihl on my side when I joined here (the last 20% were with Jonsered). It has developed into 90% for Husky, and 10% for Jonsered, during the time I have been on here.

That is about current saws, it isn't like that with older ones.

Stihl I heard bought out Husqvarna whats your take on this merge Niko:hmm3grin2orange:

as much as everyone talks about huskies I would really like to own one...........but we have absolutely no reputable dealers in our area for them that I know of:msp_ohmy:

Ms290 is #1 saw of the year by the cutters choice awards followed closely by all Echo saws. 346 and 372 sound like some kind of odd ball Chevy engine size. Never heard of Husqvarna, who makes those?

Forget sidways balance, how about upward balance. For those of you who do not know it's when the saw is pointed straight up and balanced on it's handle.

All kidding aside, Niko does provide a real service to us with his willingness to share data. Even when it draws sometimes harsh critics.

What was that engine they put in the GM cutlass cars 262? THe 346 of saws:help:

Buy a Jonsered, it really is a Husky...

I did meet a guy that sells Jonsereds around here but he does it out of his shed. Not really feeling the competence in that dealer. He did have some new ones though.

Does he really know what he has, and what they are?

Yes he does, he is a dealer out in the country but amounts to not much more than five or so saws total. I bought some old stuff from him not tolong ago. You would have to knw the guy I guess pesonally to know he even sold saws though. His clientel would amount to farmers

Just for curiosity, it would be interesting to hear what he has..

If his prices are good, then who cares?

I buy my saws used and do the tinkering myself if and when something goes wrong so dealer competence is not that big of an issue.

Hardly anything to add to that!

I would like to see Niko try out the new 241 M-Tronic and give a feedback. It sounds like it might be a saw to get him back into the Stihl game....

Hardly, the weight is just too close to the Husky 50cc saws, and the power is substantially lower.
