No, I just got the wrong parts........then it was a few days before we got it back on the bench to see that they were wrong.

We ran it a few minutes to be sure it was running correctly. It was......idles, oils, revs, cuts....
Now it's next in my line for grinding.

I have an 075 and some 041s. If you could, would you please go into some detail as to how you match the muffler to the exhaust port.
Those mufflers aren't made so that much material can be removed from them. I would suspect that you would have to limit how much you remove and braze to fill any places that you ground through. If you wanted to open it up a lot, it would be necessary to replace the pipe since it would be the next restriction. The problem is worse on the 041s.
Anyway, lots of pic of this part please.

I'll be doing more on the other end of the muffler than at the flange. There's plenty of room there.

the real question is the carb... How fast you think you can make this old girl run randy?
I was thinking the carb has a limiter that you can plug but even then I think it runs under 10K...
PS: I highly recommend a new set of AV rubber buffers. They have complete sets on Ebay for $30ish.

After digging all over the saw I can't see too many places to gain a lot. I probably well just set the squish a little tighter......advance to timing a bit, and add another port to the muffler.
blocking the limiter in the carb got me another 750-1000 rpm in the cut (running full synthetic 92oct no ethanol @ 42:1)
