Ok. Tim. Didn't know that. Guess nothing is set in stone. I should have learned that by now.

I didn't either. My P51 slobbers so much oil I have it turned all the way down. (Almost as much as that diaphragm material I got).

I just looked at the brochure that came with my Farmsaw and the P61 blurb says it comes with an auxiliary manual oiler as well. Shows it in the picture up on the front handlebar.
Who knew except the dudes in the Pioneer thread no doubt.

Did a member here get it??

On a Poulan note, I have my 4200 almost ready for paint. Just putting a little JB weld on a small gouge if the front of the case. All the other parts are primed and ready for paint. I thought I would paint this saw first as I use it a lot compared to the 5200 and the two Peterborough saws I want to paint first. If I don't have great success with the top coat it will be a a good one to practice on as it will get used some for noodling big rounds going forward.
I left the starter decal on and may buy a new clutch cover decal if it turns out well. I think the paint I bought is a fairly good match but certainly not dead on.
I'll post some pics next week when it's done.

I've just got this one going with a new fuel line and a carb cleaning and it spews oil like a Texan Millionaire. Is there any threads on oiler overhaul on these little Poulans?

Regards,

Lee:cheers:

There was some talk on here a while ago and if I recall correctly (which is a challenge), check to see if the oil line that goes between the foam filter in the tank, (under the small cover front lower left side of the case ahead of the clutch), is there and running up to the oil outlet for the bar. Ifyou have the IPL the line is part 21 on the diagram, 6th page, PN 530021026 Oil Discharge Line. I believe it was noted that if it's not there the presuure in the tank will casue the oil to come out the too large hole that is suppode to have the oil line in it. Mark is the authority and he can confirm or come up with the correct answer.

I also would like to hear more about the mysterious P62? P65? PP655? that was on feePay.

It'll have to get here first

It sold for 230 + missing bar studs but i guess there still cheap i was thinking could've been striped out or something could be anything from a pp405-pp655

I don't care if it is stripped as long as it's not broke up. Those cases will be powder coated for a new build

It had the aux oiler so it was a 655

That's why I bought it.......

A friend of mine just picked up a P60 (his 3rd) with a 36" bar and an auxiliary manual oiler on it. It may have been an option.

*Typically* a P60 will be the greener Pioneer color

P61 is usually a greener color also....

I reckon you could say that....

The reason I bought it is I have been gathering parts (NOS BP cylinder and piston) and other stuff. Those cases will be powder coated and the saw will be restored. I was missing a set of cases with the aux oiler in them......

If you want to get rid of any of the leftovers let me know!!!

I had the same thought as I believe the PP655 and I believe the P65 were the only saws to have the manual oiler .

I have never seen a 6 cube P series that didn't have a manual oiler from the P60 up thru the 655.

That saw could also be pioneer partner P62, if it is your Bp piston won't fit the rod, the P/P 65 and the 655 use a smaller wrist pin.

Randy, I'm glad it (whatever Pioneer/Partner it turns out to be) went to someone who plans to use it, either for restoration or parts.

It's definitely a 6 cube, unless somebody added the manual pump to a 5 cube, which I doubt.
I say 655, but P62/65 is possible. It has the later af cover that was used on the Poulan branded Pioneers.

I agree, P62/65 would have to be a very late model due to paint color. Someone has put a starter cover off a Quickie chop saw (painted over the blue). Other than that it should be a great starting point for a "Resto-mod" saw.........been thinking about this one a long time.
