Honda makes engines in Missouri? I thought that was Kawasaki? Kawasaki engines made in Maryville, Missouri SUCK. I can't get one to go past 1,400 hours. Old ones will run, but not the new ones. Kohler Commands are much better. 6000+ hours out of a couple.
Ariens makes a good blower for being made in the US, but the real ones are made by Honda and Yamaha.

Honda used to be in MO as well, back in the early 2000s when I worked at a plant up here that made some parts for them. Honda's website now shows small engines being built in Swepsonville, NC

Forgot to say, Toro is a major US brand here (Missisippi I believe), but I rather bought the way more costly Honda after looking at the Toro and Husky options.

Yes, more government is always the solution.
I'd be more than happy to work for $2/hr if the dollar was actually worth something. It's been devalued well over 100% in the last 80 years or so. Probably more than that actually, I haven't calculated it lately.
I haven't seen the stats for a couple of years but the USA was still the #1 manufacturing country in the world with something like 18% of all the value produced in the world. Not consumer goods but more high end stuff like machine tools and aerospace.

Not to tick anyone off but isn't Oregon just cheap aftermarket junk anyway. That's what I think, would never buy anything oregon
Minnesota. And yes, Toro's snow blowers are no comparison for a Honda. Toro's consumer quality has went to heck like everything else. They still make fantastic high-end golf course and lawn equipment.

It sucks.a $20 an hour job dont even pay the bills anymore or the gas to run for parts to do the job.im lucky I get paid $12 to $20 an hour and still just barely make it.got a lot of running to do and 1/3 goes for gas and up keep.the other 2/3 goes to bills and payin off material to work with.I would be better off with a factory job BUT there isnt any around here

Well if Oregon wants to make their stuff on China, fine, let them sell it to the Chinese. One thing for sure, they are not going to sell it to me.

The American workers have been sold out by Wall Street, Corporate America, and Washington.
They did not have to let all these cheap goods come in here from Communist China and undercut American jobs. Right now a free trade agreement is being fast tracked and it will include Vietnam where the wage is .28 cents per hour.
The government is supposed to be looking out for the American people, but who are they really looking out for? Not me, that's for sure.

For all we know, that may have been the intension with the discussed bar - we don't know that, or even how the bar itself looks!
Who can say - what counts as manufacturing? Deception and manipulation is pervasive, and official statistics are ripe with it.
