I sold a saw once and the guy brought it back and threw it at my feet and said that is was junk and he wanted his money back... Plus some colorful language. I calmly took the saw, reversed the chain and gave it back. Man did he look stupid after lol.
When to a nearby stihl dealer a while back and asked for a MS 361, yep, the guy grabs the saw and we head out the back, as he fuels it up i say i don't want my saw run-in on 50:1, but it's stihl oil, he says, with that he gives the saw 3 or 4 pulls with the chain-brake off and the thing screams in to life! then this 'expert' stands there and revs the sh@t out of the thing for 2 or 3 minutes, i turn and head back inside with the dealer following me, i stop at the rack of saws, point at another 361 and say i'll take that one thanks!.... and no need to do your pre-delivery!, Now, this guy sell more saws than any other dealer in my area!..............just coz he sells more, don't mean he knows more!
Amen ,my advice is I see 2 choices, live with the re-built saw, or tell him you bought new and want new. Either way thank him and then,...... calmly run screaming in the other direction. You my boy need a new dealer.

Well I have mixed emotions but I think I'll sleep better knowing my new saw is new, trip to dealer is in order I believe. Should I stay dolmar or should I try a different manf? Almost every saw known to mankind is available within a half hour drive.
When i sell a used saw i sell them dry!.. I run the saw then drain it, if i sold you a saw with my fuel in it and it stoped as a result of that fuel, then thats my fault, even more so with a new saw!

That is terrible, you need a new dealer, money back or new replacment parts and send the pile of parts to a saw builder. Every saw I touch or build gets at least 1/2 beating in wood before it goes to the customer. I worked for a stihl dealer once and all they did was pour gas in it and fire it it up. To me that sounds like a risky way to do saws. At this dealer, I would bring in a test log to tune against before saws went out he door. Now that I have my own shop, I give each saw a good sound beating before the customer gets it.
All saw have good points , why dont you tell the guys here what you do with your saw? Like are you a full time logger or do you snip up the occaisional tree limb , or maybe 6 cords of fire wood a year. Let the people who build and sell new and used saws give you thier opinion of waht will best fit your need. There are hundreds of years experience here at this site they can be your best friends. Let em help ya some ! Somne sponcers here sell new saws as well get some listening going on. Good luck Jeff

I cut about 50 cords of wood a year plus around 25000 to 30000 board feet of white pine, hemlock, spruce, and occasional hardwood. I don't do this full time but we hit it hard in the winter lol. Talked to the dealer... Guess I'm keeping the saw unless I can sell it private, but I'm still interested in everyone's opinion here. The husqvarna dealer will give me almost full price for my dolmar and he knows about the rebuild.

Does it retain warranty even after the f*** up? The dealer seemed to imply that I was swimming naked with polar bears.
Trade it get away from that fool ,of course that is my opinion I welcome yours ha ha. Hey if the guy is your friend and you trust his work then you are all set. If on the other hand you are wondering and worried.... then that is your answer, move on with the Huskie dealer. Good luck don't let me influence you, only you know your situation .

I've always been a fan of orange, I tried a Dolmar once decided I liked it that's why I bought it. What size should I get, I've already got a nice 372xp, stole that puppy cheap, and I'm not a huge fan of auto-tune. A couple local logging companies have tried them.... Anyways theres a lot of used ones floating around my area lol.
I will stay out of this, as I know nothing about any popular modern saw Ha Ha

I don't believe there in a unlimited coil for that saw. Unless there is a after market on I know for a fact there isn't.

Yes it should be the same warranty unless you void it. Doesn't matter how many claims on it.

Well I decided that there is hope for the saw so I asked an old friend who used to rebuild saws and even built some race saws to take a look. He said it looks great! He also suggested opening the exhaust and gutting it, he had an extra one so we opened it and found the weirdest thing. A compression chamber thing, removed it, no cutting or modifying anything, just comes out, and man a whole different machine.
Lots more power, and personally it seems quieter. I suggest to anybody to remove it, what a difference. Once I figure out how to upload a picture I'll show you guys.
