Got an Echo for $3.99 at HD...20"...cut it to 18" w.my miter saw...2 secs...looks good on my Dolmar!...Hey, and I only tried to start the saw once w/it ON!...probably won't happen again...

I have a neighbour who is really good at sharpening so it's a non issue now ... The same neighbour has is going to visit the husky dealer for me when he down that way later today

Something i just noticed ... i was under the impression the gauge for the chain was 0.58... I just noticed that the box for the chain that came with the saw says 0.50 .... good or bad !!!!

This is just weird ... according to husky website the gauge is 0.58 but when the saw arrived all the gearing was 0.50 ... The local husky dealer confirmed it should be 0.58 .. I bought 2 new chains from an online mowstore I have used in the past and they are 0.58 .. so I need to either buy some 0.50 chains or bar and sprocket to go with my new chains

Did you buy the saw from "local husky dealer"? If so, the dealer should make it the way it's supposed to be. Why would the factory list .058 and then throw a .050 sprocket on it?

The guage is the bar groove ,sprocket should be 3/8 and work with both chains

Bottom line is can i run both 0.50 and 0.58 chains on a 0.50 bar without wrecking the bar

Duh on me. I was thinking 3/8 vs .325 sprocket.

No, like TRX says, the bar slot is either .050" or .058" - your chain should be what the bar calls for.

Im thinking i might offload my 0.058 in favour of 0.050 but in saying that does one offer an advantage over the other ???
