Last I knew,

NE Stihl was carrying the MS461 Arctic, but most of Stihl's US distribution does not. As explained to me, this is due to minimum required order quantities and very slow sales. The Arctic package upgrade on a Stihl is a $300 or higher DRSP premium keeping demand low and preventing dealers from stocking unless they have the right customer base that will buy them.

If you have any dealers with connections with NE Stihl they may be able to get you one.

Fantastic work saw in cold or wet weather, I would never be without the Arctic Package now that I've had it.

I would find a member with a good dealer north of the border. I almost grabbed a 661VWR last trip up there.

Canadian dollar is really low right now. I bet it might be cheaper to buy it up there then you could get it here!

That's my thinking. It was around .80 to a dollar then. I want to say it was around $1200 US for one then.

I checked with a NE Stihl dealer today. He bought a couple last year. He checked today and said that he can no longer get them.

Shipping for saw would probalby be close to $150,,lot less without bar.
But I havent actually checked the rates and haven shipped east for a long while.
Expensive is all I got to say!!

Yes. My buddy bought one two years ago from the STIHL dealer in town. $1200.

Is that for the 3/4 or 1/2 wrap model? PHO would be the only way to go in this case. If your dealer won't sell PHO, I'd just buy it with the shortest bar possible and call that a tip for yourself
