Thought I would post some pics of this wrap handle conversion on a 261. I got a couple DM's asking about it so here it is. I wrap all my chainsaw handles with high quality cycling bar tape for improved comfort and grip.
...and for how it was done
This is where I cut the 362 wrap handle on the clutch cover side so the anti-vibe would line up.
I cut the 362 wrap handle on the flywheel side just before the handle started to curve.
I purchased a second 261 half wrap handle from ebay and cut it just before the vertical bend.
I then shaved down the plastic 261 half wrap handle so it would insert into the metal 362 full wrap handle.
Getting everything to fit nicely.
Relocating clutch cover side mounting holes.
New hardware test fit. Using "Chicago" binding screws to replace the missing fastner. New mounting holes do not interfere with standard assembly disassembly.
Using binding screws to hold the 261 half wrap to the 362 full wrap.
Mounting the full wrap handle.
Using the provided 362 anti-vibe from the kit lines up perfectly.
