I had a similar situation. I called the power company, they said they don't help with that problem. I complained that that seems wrong for safety reasons. When I came home the next day it was topped and dropped so I guess they agreed.

Thanks for the suggestion! I need to call them about a sagging power line anyway (they tighten them at no charge, probably to curb
lawsuits over folks getting electrocuted).

The tree is partially in the area of my backyard that belongs to me, and partially in the area that is my yard but is also considered an utility (access?) easement---underground sewer lines & natural gas lines, above-ground phone lines & power lines.

Did you buy it? Everybody needs at least one good sand cast. I'll find one in my woods one day....

No. I posted the info & link in case anyone here might to try to work a deal. I'll leave the early sandcast Poulan saws to those who have more patience than me (tracking down really rare parts isn't a much fun as it once was). Nacogdoches is a very long drive, I'd need to be in the area for some other reason(s), not just for one chainsaw.

That and another one with a bow were listed months ago and for more money if I remember right.

I do know someone who might be close enough to look/pic it up for me. I will be on it, we'll see.

My dad just let's the storms take them out so he doesn't have to drop them, power co comes out and finish cutting the tree and fixes the lines.

I want to fab some kind of cover plate to go with the K&N filter to keep stuff out since mine doesn't have one. You all think I should use some kind of thin metal or a thin plastic type material for it?

Also, anyone have an extra muffler body for this style saw to sell or trade? This one will work for now but it's been hacked on a bit and has a half ass muff mod done to the bottom of it too.

Filter set up looks like this now so it needs something around the filter.

Never mind, my mistake, this is not the same saw and is in a different place all together. I should have actually looked closer.

I dont think a plate is going to help much.

Personally I never liked the looks of K&N filters on those anyway. If it was mine, I would just wait and find a stock filter setup for it. There is a guy on ebay who sells the Max Flow stock style filters that work well, just need a boot and top cover then. They show up now and again.

That is really what I would like, they just seem few and far between. I'll definitely keep my eyes open on Ebay though.

Bought a set of correct west coast dogs for the 655 and put them on last night. Looks way better than the ones that were on it that were homemade by someone.

Also, tag on the bottom of the saw says it built in Canada, were a lot of these models built there?
