So I was at the local dealer yesterday and mentioned I had a sycamore tree I need to take out at my house. Long story short he wants to trade me a new Husqvarna for the wood. I asked which saw? he said "pick one". The tree is 50 ish feet tall about 3 1/2 feet at the base and I will be doing all the work. So which saw ? I'm thinking 390 XPW bar and chain. That's a lot of wood......how much I don't know. How many cords do you guys think is there? I'm sure he will be getting the saw at cost or close to it. I don't really need a 390 but if i'm getting a brand new saw in trade I want to get my wood and labors worth out of it. Thoughts? I'm going to go talk to him face to face after work today.

Sycamore is garbage wood ... finding somebody to take it off hands is a great stroke of luck! It's the deal of the century to get someone who wants it bad enough to give you a saw that's worth $1,000+ (total guess) !

I don't know if he would go for the 390 but he did say "pick one"

I don't know your area but here a tree that size that you can just drop and block up doesn't that kind of money. A Grand will buy alot of split and delivered wood in this area. If in fact he is agreeable to a 390 cost saw jump on the deal. I know I would.
