Just wondering if this is possible, I have a nice condtion cs 590 with stihl carbide chain ($75) looking to trade for a new or newer 45 cc chainsaw, I like japanese but anything is possible. Let me know!

lets see. no pics of said saw to trade. brand new member just signed up today. who do you know here that can vouch for you? are you willing to ship your saw to a member here first, so they aren't scammed?

if not, it's unlikely that you will find what you are looking for here. too many long standing members have been burned by newbs on here that start out posting by trying to sell or trade.

Why do you have a carbide chain on it? Usually that chain it used for some hard conditions. To me carbide chain doesn't say oh boy! Its says oh noooooo.

Hi Bryan, its nice to meet you too. Just because this is one of my first posts doesn't qualify me as a scammer or a thief, I'm far from actually. Also, I probably wouldn't trade a saw just by sending it in the mail blindly, just doesn't seem like a good idea to me either, I plan to upload some pics tomorrow. More or less, just getting a feel for what may be possible.

Came with it off of craigslist. Can't complain, just to much saw for me.

Just be on here for a while and you will be wanting a bigger saw. I have a cs-590 and love it, but I have my eye on building me an aftermarket 372xp.... Just because lol. I have no need for a 70cc saw, but being on here makes me think I need one lol.

lol, I can see that happening, just like someone already said, being a 'newb' a big saw like that can be intimidating, not that I cant handle it but what if with little experience something happens,

I love my timberwolf too for the short amount of time ive had, a nice simple design, made in japan, cant do wrong

For its power and weight, I wouldn't get rid of it, maybe get a 18" bar setup for it. It comes stock with a 20" but if thats too big for you hang it on the wall until the day (and their will be that day) you need it. But this is just my two cents worth.
To me - Id rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Exactly what I was thinking, a 18 inch bar would be perfect, just got to find one, thanks for the input.

Agreed that's what I was about to say. I would save up for a 45cc saw or just use the little saw you have now for limbing and the cs-590 for felling a bucking. 45 cc won't be a good only felling and bucking saw to me.

Also as for what Bryan said, a lot of people on here have been members for a long time . You will be given advise, help and I seen free parts fly all over the place from members helping members. Don't mind the suspicion, but signing up and looking for a trade is like putting the cart before the horse.

I have a good running Poulan Pro 42 cc that I picked up in a package deal last week I will trade ya for!

Not even worried that you are a newbie! :baaa:

Good point, I like this forum already, can't blame the suspicion but I should've mentioned it would have to be a in person swap, I wouldnt ship a saw unless I sold it on ebay.

Im thinking of boring out a couple of holes in my Tanaka 33s muff, tuning the carb and replacing the chain for a Stihl, should be a decent saw then. Keeping my eyes open for a cs 450, just to try it out. I borrowed a red max gz4500 for weekend and it was a fun saw, 590 with a 18 would be more fun I expect though

Home depot?
I would probably go to a local echo dealer to make sure you get the right bar and chain for your saw. I know your kinda set on echo, but you may want to look at a dolmar 421. If I get a 40cc class saw that will probably be it. I hear it cuts like a much bigger saw but I'd the weight and size of a 40cc saw (it's 42cc)
